It’s my favorite piece for electric guitar and I am recording it properly this season. I love that Bernhard gives the interpreter the freedom to improvise over the extended looped repetitions, making it more interesting but also more challenging to find the right spots and tones in this sonic landscape.

Like the original piece DW6b works with (almost exact) doublings of the original guitar, this performance works with the recording of Bernhard Langs piece (audio and video) and adds on top an improvised layer of performance (destroying an electric guitar), live video and live sampling on top of that, thus creating a Doppelgänger-phenomenon.
